Kara's journey is beset by challenges and dangers that will test her resolve & will to survive!

Every week throughout August, we have revealed one of four beautiful and visually striking mural pieces, leading up to the enigmatic and powerful Mural Story Trailer we have released today.

Along the way, we have been asking you what you think is taking place in each of the panels and what kind of story they are telling.

You have given us a lot of interesting ideas and it is clear some of you have been analyzing every aspect of these murals!

Today we have released the Mural Story Trailer, voiced spectacularly by our mystical narrator, you're able to see the culmination of these four individual pieces, woven together to tell an abridged story of Kara's adventure through the Forbidden Islands, as well as showcasing further exclusive gameplay reveals!

“Kara”. The mural speaks of her name. It warns of a treacherous path that lies ahead in her heroic voyage through ancient lands and the seas that surround them; fulfilling a destiny that is shrouded in a long-forgotten history with its remnants scattered like whispers throughout the lands.

She must fight through The Forbidden Islands and face its storm to return to her tribe, but it will take time and perseverance to understand its true nature, as unexpected dangers test her resolve and will to survive.

The diegetic way the story has been told is as mysterious as the mural pieces themselves, so we figured we'd provide you with a little break-down of the panels in reference to the Mural Story Trailer to really provoke some thought behind what we have seen so far, and what it could all mean.

In this first panel, we are introduced to Kara and her tribe. We see Kara at the head of the nomadic flotilla, the seas are calm, the sun is radiant, and the tribe are travelling onwards across the ocean, in that moment oblivious to storm that awaits them moments away.

A terrible storm approaches Kara's tribe and the fleet is caught amidst its brutal and unforgiving force. Kara's boat is caught in the power of the storm's winds and destroyed, she is lost to her tribe. An experienced seafaring tribe would undoubtedly know the dangers of ocean storms, however for a squall of this magnitude to appear out of nowhere is certainly a rare occurrence.

Kara is washed ashore, alone on a mysterious archipelago. Throughout the trailer, we’re witness to an evolution of Kara’s survival skills and her strength to survive made real as she harnesses fire, crafts weaponry and armour to combat the beasts of the Forbidden Islands and ultimately stands triumphant atop the islands as the warrior she was destined to be. The more observant of you will notice columns on the very peak of this island change from yellow to blue, alongside the blue shards on the land as Kara overcomes the challenges of the island, until finally Kara’s Amulet, the columns and shards exude the same blue light. What power might have been wrought in Kara as she battles her way through the Forbidden Islands? What is Kara’s link to these islands to grant her such a boon? And what is the significance of those blue shards?

We see Kara take to the seas once more continuing her journey through the hostile and beautiful Forbidden Islands. She has mastered survival in these mystical lands and has prepared herself to take on her final challenge. Everything Kara has overcome and experienced throughout her journey has led to this… But what might this moment with the mysterious Nautilus bring, and did you notice its presence earlier in the mural?
